Ian Ellison

Diving Grade: First Class Diver & DfA Dive Manager & Buddies.

Instructor: Advanced Instructor

Ian has been diving for over 30 years and is a BSAC First Class Diver and an Advanced Instructor. He is one of the founding members of Westhoughton Sub Aqua Club. Ian has logged over 1500 dives in the UK and overseas.

Currently Ian holds over 25 BSAC Skill Development Course Instructor / Examiner Qualifications.

Ian also is a member of the North West Regional Coaching Team and is also a BSAC Instructor Trainer / Examiner. Passionate and enthusiastic about his love of SCUBA diving, Ian enjoys passing on his knowledge and experience to other divers.

Ian was also a former BSAC North West Regional Coach from 2000-2003 and a member of the BSAC UK National Diving Committee from 2003 to 2008.

Role of a Chairman

The Chairman plays an important role as leader and figurehead in the organisation and in all matters relating to the Branch’s public image. The Chairperson’s formal role is to chair Branch Committee meetings and the AGM. He is responsible for the conduct of the meetings through which the business of the Branch is transacted.
